Rally-Style 1954 Lincoln Capri Special Custom Coupe

This 1954 Lincoln Capri Special Custom coupe was modified in a rally racing style under prior ownership and wears red and white paint with La Carrera Panamericana door decals and other racing-style decals and lettering. A roll cage has been added to the interior along with racing-style bucket seats, Crow Enterprizes harnesses, and a fabricated dash panel housing a set of AutoMeter gauges. Power is provided by a Lincoln Y-block V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission and accompanied by an aluminum radiator, fenderwell exhaust headers, and a trunk-mounted fuel tank and Holley electric fuel pumps. Additional equipment includes a louvered hood, rear fender skirts, 15″ steel wheels, an Alfa-Pro rally timer, and a Pioneer CD stereo with Focal speakers. This modified Lincoln coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean California title.

The body is finished in red with a white roof and wears 2005 La Carrera Panamericana door decals along with other decorative and racing-style decals and lettering. The hood has been modified with louvers and hold-down pins, and the trunk lid is secured with metal-rod hold-downs. Additional details include a custom skull and revolver-themed hood ornament, a roof-mounted GPS receiver, chrome bumpers, mesh headlight covers, rear fender skirts, and exhaust outlets that run through each front fender.

Black-finished 15″ steel wheels are wrapped in 225/70 front and 235/75 rear Firestone Destination LE3 tires with raised white letters. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.

A fabricated roll cage is fitted with padding and surrounds a pair of bolstered bucket seats trimmed in black cloth with red accents. Additional equipment includes Crow Enterprizes harnesses, a RacerX Motorsport communication system, an Alfa-Pro rally timer and odometer, a fire extinguisher, and an Art Carr floor shifter. A Pioneer CD stereo is linked to Focal speakers in the upper dash panel and rear bulkhead.

A fuel tank is mounted in the trunk along with redundant Holley electronic fuel pumps, a spare tire, and a floor jack.

The Grant GT steering wheel frames an AutoMeter Pro-Comp tachometer and 260-km/h speedometer, while coordinated gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, transmission temperature, and voltage are mounted in the fabricated dash panel. The digital odometer indicates 1,220 kilometers (~758 miles).

The 317ci Lincoln Y-block V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and an aftermarket open-element air cleaner. Custom aluminum inner fenders have been installed along with coated fenderwell exhaust headers, an aluminum radiator, and an auxiliary electric pusher fan.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
