This 1947 Harley-Davidson WL is powered by a 45ci flathead V-twin that has been modified with domed pistons, piston skirt oilers, KR-profile cam lobes, Chevrolet-sourced intake valves, a modified clutch basket, and a black two-into-one exhaust system with a megaphone-style silencer. The reinforced hardtail frame carries a Panhead fuel tank and a rear fender that have been refinished in red, and the bike is further equipped with a hand-shifted three-speed transmission, Excel alloy rims, a rear disc brake, a springer fork, a steering damper, LED lighting, and a leather Corbin Gentry solo seat. This WL is now offered at no reserve by the consigning dealer, a BaT local partner, with a clean California title.
The black hardtail frame has been braced at the rear, and it carries a Panhead fuel tank that has been refinished in red and white with red pinstriping. Features include a leather Corbin Gentry solo seat, a narrowed rear fender, folding foot pegs, a custom battery box, a total-loss electrical system, an LED headlight, and a side-mount license plate bracket with a custom integrated LED taillight.
Excel alloy rims measuring 19″ up front and 18″ at the rear are laced to spool hubs with Buchanan’s stainless-steel spokes and are mounted with Dunlop Gold Seal K70 tires. A springer fork comprises the bike’s only suspension, and stopping power is provided by a rear drilled rotor clamped by a hydraulic Brembo caliper.
A black-finished handlebar carries switchgear and a brake lever on the right. The bike is not equipped with an odometer or other instrumentation, therefore total mileage is unknown.
The 45ci flathead V-twin features aluminum cylinder heads, a kick starter, a Wico magneto ignition system, and a Linkert carburetor that has been fitted with a “bomb-sight” venturi and a high-capacity float bowl. The cylinder heads were milled and ported, and the engine has been further modified with domed pistons, piston skirt oilers, KR-profile cam lobes, Chevrolet-sourced intake valves, replacement valve springs, a modified clutch basket, and a two-into-one exhaust with a megaphone-style silencer.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through an enclosed duplex primary chain, a hand-shifted three-speed transmission with a foot-operated clutch, and a drive chain.
