This 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 is powered by a 6.2-liter E-Rod LS3 crate V8 linked with a GM six-speed automatic transmission, and it has long-term registration history in Utah and California through the current owner’s acquisition in 2019. The truck rides on an Old Man Emu lift kit, 15″ Mickey Thompson wheels, and BFGoodrich 33″ tires, and off-road equipment includes Aisin manually locking front hubs, a rear ladder and tire carrier, and a Smittybilt front winch. It is finished in white over replacement blue and white vinyl upholstery, and the cabin is outfitted with air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a touchscreen infotainment system. This FJ62 is now offered on dealer consignment by the seller –a BaT Local Partner– with a clean California title.
The custom rear bumper has a receiver hitch, a ladder, and a rear tire carrier, while a Smittybilt XRC winch and recovery shackles are found on the heavy-duty front bumper. The truck is finished in white and is further equipped with AMP Research power-retractable side steps. The Carfax report lists a damage report in a July 2003 entry. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and imperfections, including rust bubbles and scratches, are provided in the gallery.
Old Man Emu provided the 2.5″ suspension lift, and Aisin manually locking hubs are found up front. Black-finished Mickey Thompson 15″ wheels are mounted with 33×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, and a matching spare is found out back.
The front bucket seats and rear bench have been reupholstered in gray and white perforated vinyl, and a touchscreen infotainment system has been installed. Further appointments include air conditioning, power windows, a hand throttle, and a rear window defroster.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 207k miles.
The General Motors 6.2-liter E-Rod crate V8 breathes through a polished intake pipe and a conical filter. Photos of emissions and CARB-related stickers are included in the gallery below.
A GM 6L80 six-speed automatic was installed with an Advance Adapters kit during the build, and power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a two-speed transfer case.
The vehicle last passed a California emissions test in May 2024, and a referee smog inspection was bypassed and subsequently passed in October 2022. The California BAR Vehicle Information Label is displayed in the gallery.
