Ford Mustang Trans Am TA2 Race Car

This Ford Mustang is a Trans Am TA2 race car that competed in SCCA TA2 events before being acquired by the selling dealer. The Mike Cope tube-frame chassis wears Mustang-styled bodywork finished in a white Cool Boxx livery, and power is provided by a Pro Motor Engines-built 6.2-liter V8 paired with a G-Force GSR four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15″ Bassett wheels, an adjustable suspension with coilover shocks, Brembo brake calipers, and an adjustable rear wing. Inside, the car has a Bimarco racing seat, a Cool Boxx driver cooling system, an AiM data acquisition system, and a MOMO steering wheel. This Mustang Trans Am race car is now offered by the selling dealer in California with a bill of sale.

The Trans Am TA2 series features Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Dodge Challenger-styled bodies on tube-frame chassis. This example built by Nitro Motorsports is a sixth-generation Mustang body placed on a Mike Cope Racing chassis. Equipment includes an adjustable rear wing, taillights, and a single exhaust outlet ahead of the right-rear tire.

Black-painted 15″ Bassett wheels are mounted with yellow-letter Pirelli P Zero racing slicks. The adjustable suspension is fitted with Penske coilover shocks that were recently rebuilt. Braking is handled by six-piston Brembo calipers over slotted rotors, and the system is said to have been used in one race.

The interior is outfitted with an integrated roll cage, a Bimarco racing seat with a Simpson safety harness, and a Cool Boxx driver cooling system. Other features include a fire suppression system, a window net, and a toggle switch panel for the ignition and auxiliary functions.

The quick-release MOMO steering wheel fronts an AiM display and data acquisition system. The car is not equipped with an odometer.

The sealed-spec LS3-based 6.2-liter V8 was built by Pro Motor Engines and is said to have been used in five races. Additional equipment includes an AEM ECU, an aluminum radiator, and Beyea exhaust headers.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G-Force GSR four-speed manual transmission and a Buzze Racing rear axle assembly. The differential is said to have been used in one race following an overhaul.

The car does not carry a title and is sold on a bill of sale.
