Euro 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary

This 1989 Lamborghini Countach is one of approximately 658 examples of the 25th Anniversary model built during a three-year production run. It is said to have been first sold by EmilianAuto S.p.A, of Bologna, Italy, and remained in the country until it was exported to the UK in 2014. It reportedly underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2021 before it was imported to the US in 2022. It was purchased by the selling dealer later that year. The car is finished in red over black leather upholstery, and power comes from a 5.2-liter DOHC V12 fitted with six Weber 44 DCNF downdraft carburetors and paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes scissor doors, a V-shaped rear wing, European-market bumpers and lighting, multi-piece 15” OZ Racing wheels, an Alpine cassette stereo, power-operated windows and seats, electronic climate control, and a gated shifter. This Countach is now offered in Thousand Oaks, California, with factory books, tools, service records, a clean Carfax report, and an Arizona title.

Originally penned by Marcello Gandini, the Countach’s bodywork was updated by Horacio Pagani for the 25th Anniversary edition of the model that debuted in 1988. Features include carbon and Kevlar body panels, gradually inclined air intakes with longitudinal fins, an integrated rear bumper, and revisions to the front fascia, engine cover, and sills when compared to earlier models.

Delivered from the factory in Rosso Siviglia, the bodywork is mounted over a tubular steel spaceframe and was repainted in England in 2021. Equipment includes European-market bumpers and lighting, a V-shaped rear wing, scissor doors, NACA ducts blended from the doors to the quarter panels, straked brake vents, and pop-up headlights. Photos taken during the repaint can be seen in the gallery.

Multi-piece 15” OZ Racing wheels were refinished and mounted with 225/50 front and 345/35 rear Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires in May 2022. The Countach features a fully independent suspension with coil springs and telescopic shock absorbers, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel ventilated disc brakes.

The cockpit features power-adjustable bucket seats trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels, sills, and carpets. Features include electronic climate control, an Alpine cassette stereo, power windows, and a gated shifter.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation including a 320-km/h speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows over 15k kilometers (~ 9,600 miles).

The Bizzarini-designed 5.2-liter V12 features a 60° cylinder bank angle, four valves per cylinder, and six Weber 44 DCNF downdraft carburetors. Revised intakes on the 25th Anniversary Countach allowed for the radiators to be mounted vertically for improved cooling. Output was factory rated at 449 horsepower, an approximate 35-horsepower increase over contemporary fuel-injected models. A 2021 service reportedly included a valve adjustment, a tuning of the carburetors, and the installation of a new cam belt.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission mounted in the middle of the car, ahead of the engine. A replacement clutch was installed in December 2021.
