2004 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U500 Camper Conversion

This 2004 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U500 was converted to an expedition-style vehicle under prior ownership, and it remained registered in Nevada with its first owner before being purchased by the selling dealer in 2025. The truck is finished in white over patterned cloth upholstery, and power is from a 6.4-liter turbodiesel inline-six linked to an all-wheel drive system with an eight-speed pre-selector manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, three locking differentials, and portal axles. The camper cabin is outfitted with a galley, a bed, ceiling vents, and LED lighting. Other equipment includes power windows, solar panels, LED perimeter lighting, side and rear awnings, and a power inverter. This Unimog is now offered by the selling dealer in California with a clean Nevada title.

The vehicle is finished in white with black wheel arch trim. Fabricated bumpers are fitted, and other equipment includes clearance lights, towing mirrors, side steps, a polished fuel tank, and front and rear receiver hitches. The camper cabin has a rear entry door accompanied by folding steps, while the right-side entry door is accessed via stairs that can be raised and lowered via a power-operated winch. Equipment includes rooftop solar panels, underbody equipment boxes, a freshwater inlet, and a compressed air outlet aft of the left door. The windshield wipers were recently replaced.

Black-finished 20″ steel wheels are mounted with 395/85 Michelin X tires, while a spare is secured to a hoist system behind the cab. Stopping power is from air-actuated brakes.

The cab houses a driver’s seat and a pair of passenger seats trimmed in gray patterned cloth. A Lowrance GPS receiver is mounted atop the dash, and the semi-floating center console has controls for the locking differentials, pneumatic emergency brake, lights, and power windows. Amenities include air conditioning, a JVC CD stereo, and a Pyle drop-down display screen mounted overhead.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts a 75-mph speedometer, a 3k-rpm tachometer, auxiliary gauges, and digital displays for additional vehicle functions. The digital odometer indicates 16k miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer.

The living quarters are outfitted with white walls, diamond-plate trim, woodgrain flooring, LED lighting, and battery-operated rechargeable lamps. House equipment includes a Windynation solar charge controller, a Cobra power inverter, and accessory control panels along with a water pump, freshwater and gray water tanks, and dual deep cycle batteries that were recently replaced. The Alpine CD stereo does not work.

The galley has tile countertops along with a stainless-steel sink, a microwave oven, overhead storage, and a Weize ice chest mounted on a slide-out platform.

The sleeping compartment is furnished with a memory foam mattress, a ceiling vent, a polished shelf, and a hinged window with a screen.

The 6.4-liter turbodiesel inline-six sends power to all four wheels via an automated pre-selector manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, three locking differentials, and portal axles. The selling dealer notes that the PTO system has been removed.
