This 2001 BMW M5 was purchased new from BMW of San Francisco in California and remained in the care of its original owner until it was acquired by its current owner on BaT in April 2024. The tires were subsequently replaced, and the car is powered by a 4.9-liter V8 linked with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It is finished in Jet Black over black Nappa leather and is further equipped with 18″ Style 65 wheels, a sunroof, xenon headlights, fog lights, Park Distance Control, heated power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an M Audio system, and navigation. This E39 M5 has 110k miles and is now offered a no reserve on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, a Carfax report, and a California title.

The car is finished in Jet Black (668) with Shadowline trim and features xenon headlights with washers along with fog lamps, front and rear parking sensors, a glass sunroof, a trunk lid spoiler, rain-sensing wipers, and quad exhaust outlets. The Carfax report shows damage reports in January 2015 and January 2019, both indicating “damage to front”.

Chrome Shadow—finished 18″ Style 65 wheels were mounted with 245/40 front and 275/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing 2024 date codes. The car features Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with All Season Traction, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs measuring 13.6″ and 12.9″ front and rear, respectively. The brake pads and rotors were replaced in 2022.

The heated and power-adjustable front sport seats are trimmed in black Nappa leather, and color-matching material extends to the rear seats. Burl walnut wood trim accents the cabin, and amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, WeatherTech floor mats, navigation, and an M Audio system. The driver’s seat switch was replaced in 2022.

The multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts an M-branded 185-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline, along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. Various pixels will not illuminate in the instrument panel information display. The digital odometer indicates 110k miles, approximately 10k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 4.9-liter S62 V8 is equipped with individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS continuously variable valve timing. It was factory rated at 394 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in April 2024.
