1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ43 by FJ Company

This 1982 Land Cruiser FJ43 was refurbished and modified by the FJ Company in Colombia before it was imported to the US, and it was sold on BaT in November of 2022 before it was purchased by the current owner in 2024. Built to the FJ Company’s G43-S specification, the truck is finished in Grayish Olive over red leather and is powered by a supercharged 4.0-liter Toyota 1GR-FE V6 mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional features include front and rear electronic locking differentials, 16” Evo Corse Dakar wheels, King remote-reservoir shocks, anti-lock front disc brakes, power steering, Recaro front seats, LED lighting, a Warn winch, air conditioning, a backup camera, and an Alpine stereo with Bluetooth capability. This modified FJ43 is now offered on dealer consignment in California with a tool kit and a clean Montana title.

The body was removed from the frame and repainted in Grayish Olive (6h9) as part of the build. Exterior features include a Warn front winch, dual side mirrors, a Hi-Lift jack, Rigid Truck-Lite LED headlights, a body-color jerrycan, a receiver hitch, and FJ Company bumpers with integrated fog lights.

Black-painted 16″ Evo Corse Dakar wheels are wrapped in 295/75 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires. A matching spare is mounted on a swing-out carrier at the rear. The truck rides on a revised suspension with King remote-reservoir shocks, and it is fitted with power-assisted front disc and rear drum anti-lock brakes. Additional equipment includes traction control, stability control, and power steering.

Recaro Specialist front seats and inward-facing rear bench seats are upholstered in red leather and joined by a matching center console, shifter boot, and door panels. Additional features include CNC-machined aluminum knobs and handles, Baja Designs LED lighting, Coco Mats, retractable front shoulder belts and rear lap belts, and a Vintage Air air conditioning system with vents integrated into the dashboard. A center-console-mounted Alpine head unit with Bluetooth capability is equipped, and the backup camera displays its video feed in the rearview mirror. The finish on the front center console cupholder is chipped.

The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of an FJ Company-branded instrument cluster that includes a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline. The digital odometer shows 8k kilometers (~5,500 miles), which is said to represent the distance driven since the build was completed.

The 4.0-liter Toyota 1GR-FE V6 engine is fitted with a Magnuson supercharger. Additional features include a stainless-steel exhaust system and a 23.7-gallon fuel tank.

The truck is equipped with a Toyota five-speed H150F manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and front and rear electronic locking differentials. The frame is said to have been galvanized, and Raptor bed liner was applied to the underside and floors.

The FJ Company plaque affixed to the driver-side door jamb designates this truck as being G43-S build #1111 and shows the frame number FJ43-109975.

The truck has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair or Air Resources Board, and it has not passed a California smog test.
