1997 TVR Cerbera

This 1997 TVR Cerbera is a right-hand-drive coupe that is one of approximately 1,996 examples produced between 1996 and 2006. Now showing 11k miles, it is finished in Imperial Blue Pearl over Magnolia leather upholstery and is powered by a 4.2-liter AJP8 “Speed Eight” V8 linked to a five-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with a tubular steel backbone chassis, AP Racing disc brakes, 18″ alloy wheels, air conditioning, power windows, and a CD stereo. This Cerbera is offered on dealer consignment in California with two key fobs, a spare set of taillights, and a Nevada title.

The Cerbera was introduced at the 1993 London Motor Show and was TVR’s first 2+2 as well as their first car powered by an in-house engine design. The fiberglass bodywork is finished in Imperial Blue Pearl and features fog lights, side marker lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, concealed door releases, a heated rear window, and dual exhaust outlets. Close-up photos presented in the gallery show a scratch on the windshield cowl and blemishes in the carbon-fiber trim and paint.

Silver-finished 18″ TVR Spider wheels are mounted with 225/35 front and 255/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. The car rides on a four-wheel independent suspension and braking is handled by AP Racing calipers over a disc at each corner. The Cerbera was not offered with an anti-lock braking system or traction control.

The right-hand drive 2+2 cabin features front and rear bucket seats trimmed in Magnolia leather that extends to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Black carpets line the floors and appointments include air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a Sony CD stereo linked to Pioneer speakers.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel features a central vent flanked by an analog clock and a fuel-level gauge. The instrument cluster houses a 220-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 11k miles.

The 4.2-liter AJP8 “Speed Eight” V8 was developed and built in-house by TVR and features all-alloy construction, a 75° bank angle, and a flat-plane crankshaft. Factory rated output was 360 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner five-speed manual transmission.

The Arizona title has a “Non US Vehicle” brand.
