This 2009 Audi R8 coupe was converted into a rear-wheel-drive race car after 2021, and in 2022 it placed second overall in the US Touring Car Championship ST class with a best time of 1:55:162 at Thunderhill Raceway Park. The car is powered by a 4.2-liter FSI V8 linked to a six-speed R-tronic automated transaxle, and it has MCS suspension, 034Motorsport brakes, 18″ Forgeline wheels, and front and rear spoilers. Inside is a roll cage, a race seat, safety equipment, and a quick-release Sparco steering wheel. This R8 race car is now offered on a bill of sale in California on dealer consignment with an extra set of wheels.

The car was issued a salvage certificate due to front-end crash damage incurred in 2021. It was repaired and then wrapped in gray vinyl with blue and white accents. The carbon-fiber hood is secured by AeroCatch latches, and polycarbonate windows were installed along with an APR swan-neck wing and a splitter. The trailing edge of the front fenders has been removed, and fender extensions were fitted along with front and rear tow hooks. Rubber marks and scuffs are noted around the car.

MCS remote-reservoir shocks were utilized along with 034Motorsport brake rotors and pads. The 18×11″ and 18×12″ Forgeline wheels are secured on studs and mounted with Hankook slicks.

The cabin has a fabricated roll cage with gussets, and a race seat, harness, safety net, and cool-suit system were installed along with a Lifeline electronic fire-suppression system.

A digital cluster is mounted ahead of the factory gauges, and the Sparco steering wheel is mounted on a quick-release hub.

The 4.2-liter FSI V8 is linked to a six-speed R-tronic automated transaxle. The car was converted to rear-drive, and it now has a center-exit exhaust system in place of the rear plate.
