This 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is a Japanese-market Tommi Mäkinen Edition GSR powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip differential. The Tommi Mäkinen Edition GSR was built to commemorate the Finnish rally driver and his four consecutive World Rally Championship victories. TME-specific bodywork includes an aluminum vented bonnet and front over-fenders as well as a revised front bumper and air dam, body-color power-adjustable side mirrors, rear fender flares, a rear-window wiper, and a rear fog lamp, under spoiler, and adjustable wing. This example is finished in Scotia White (W83).
White 17″ Enkei wheels are mounted with 225/45 Bridgestone Potenza tires. Tommi Mäkinen Edition examples were equipped with a specially-tuned suspension featuring aluminum control arms and anti-roll bars front and rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel vented disc brakes with red-finished Brembo calipers. Curb rash and paint chipping is visible on the wheels.
The right-hand-drive cabin features Recaro bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black Ecsaine and red cloth, with unique T. Makinen Edition embroidery on the front seatbacks. Appointments include power windows, automatic climate control, a Clarion CD stereo, and a Blitz turbo timer.
The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames a 180-km/h speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 49k kilometers (~30k miles). A maintenance sticker in the door jamb notes an oil change in November 2020 at 52k kilometers.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter 4G63 inline-four in the Tommi Mäkinen Edition features a larger capacity front-mounted intercooler, a titanium 68mm-diameter turbo compressor wheel, and redesigned pistons with improved oil flow compared to the standard Evo VI.
Power is routed to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system with limited-slip front and rear differentials and Active Yaw Control (AYC).
The car is titled in Montana but located in California. It has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, and it has not passed a California smog test.
