This 1964 Porsche 356C is a Karmann-built coupe that spent time in California and Colorado and remained with its original owner before being sold on BaT in December 2021. The exterior was refinished in its factory shade of Dolphin Grey in 2021, and it is powered by a an 1,820cc flat-four linked with a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, a Blaupunkt radio, blue leatherette upholstery, a rear luggage rack, Sachs shocks, chrome-finished wheels, an aluminum oil cooling tower, a high-flow bypass oil filter, an electric fuel pump, and LED headlights and tail lights. This 356 is now offered in California on consignment by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, at no reserve with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, a tool kit, service manuals, and a Colorado title.
The car was ordered in Dolphin Grey (6410) and was repainted in 2021. Equipment includes a left-side mirror, LED headlights and tail lights, and a chrome luggage rack mounted to the rear decklid. Paint protection film has been applied to the entire body, and discoloration is noted on the film around the right rear taillight.
The 15″ chrome-finished steel wheels wear Porsche crest hubcaps and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car was factory equipped with disc brakes at each corner.
The cabin features blue leatherette upholstery on the front and rear seats, three-point belts for the front occupants, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Brown sisal floor mats are fitted, and headlight and starter relays have been installed.
VDO instrumentation includes a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer has rolled over and shows 34k miles.
The air-cooled 616/1 flat-four was rebuilt and increased in displacement to 1,820cc under prior ownership. The electrical system has been modified to accommodate 12-volt accessories, and additional equipment includes dual Zenith carburetors, an aluminum oil cooling tower, a high-flow bypass oil filter, and an electric fuel pump.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt in 2016. Metal work has been performed on the battery box and tow hook.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate lists factory colors and options and shows a production completion date of March 24, 1964.
