1974 Ford Bronco ICON BR #5

This 1974 Ford Bronco is the fifth of the BR series built by ICON 4×4 of Chatsworth, California, and it was completed in 2011. The body was refinished in satin bronze and mounted to an Art Morrison chassis equipped with a suspension lift, Fox remote-reservoir coilovers, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Power is provided by a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 linked to a five-speed manual transmission, a twin-stick dual-range transfer case, and Dynatrac axles with ARB locking differentials. Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in gray vinyl with patterned inserts and accompanied by a roll bar, a fabricated center console, a Pioneer touchscreen stereo, a tilting steering wheel, Dakota Digital gauges, and air conditioning. Additional equipment includes a swing-away tire carrier, a Warn winch and manually locking front hubs, power-operated side steps, and 17″ Hutchinson alloy wheels. This ICON BR was purchased by the owner in 2021 and is now offered on dealer consignment by a BaT Local Partner with a clean California title.

The body was painted satin bronze during the build and features a body-color removable hardtop, black bumpers, and an ICON-branded grille. Additional exterior details include tinted windows, a swing-away spare tire carrier, a winch, AMP Research retractable side steps, and LED headlights and integrated front bumper lights, as well as ICON BR badging, a rear receiver hitch, side mirrors, a billet aluminum fuel cap, and a single exhaust outlet behind the right rear wheel. There is a paint chip on the tailgate.

The truck rides on an Art Morrison chassis using a lifted suspension with Fox remote-reservoir coilovers, and it is equipped with power steering, WARN manually locking front hubs, a hydroboost-assisted Wilwood brake master cylinder, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with red ICON-branded calipers. The 17″ Black Rock alloy wheels are mounted with 285/70 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a removable rear bench trimmed in charcoal vinyl with patterned inserts as well as a four-point roll bar with front and rear shoulder belts mounted to the uprights. The custom center console has front and rear cupholders and houses a Pioneer touchscreen stereo, and the truck is equipped with air conditioning as well as a tilting steering column and ICON-branded pedals.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an ICON-branded Dakota Digital instrument cluster with a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and readouts for voltage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 6k miles have been added since the ICON build.

The fuel-injected Coyote 5.0-liter V8 features an ICON-script engine cover and is accompanied by an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan.

Power is routed to the rear, the front, or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and an Atlas dual-range transfer case. The Dynatrac front and rear axles are equipped with ARB air lockers.

The ICON plate under the hood indicates this truck is unit 0005 built in 2011.
