7k-Mile 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale

This 2014 Ferrari 458 is one of less than 2,000 claimed to have been produced between 2013 and 2015 and has 7k miles. The car is finished in Nero Daytona over Nero Alcantara upholstery and powered by a 4.5-liter DOHC V8 linked with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and an electronic differential. It rides on gold 20″ forged alloy wheels coupled with magnetorheological dampers as well as red Ferrari/Brembo brake calipers over carbon-ceramic discs at all four corners. Additional details include Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, carbon-backed bucket seats, and active aerodynamics. This 458 Speciale is offered as part of the WOB Ferrari Fall Festival collection on dealer consignment in Thousand Oaks, California, with a clean Carfax report and a clean Montana title.

The 458 was designed by Ferrari’s Donato Coco in collaboration with Pininfarina, and the Speciale trim added an active horizontal front-end flap to divert air under the car, spring-loaded doors to direct air from the radiators at high speeds, aero fins on the side skirts, a motor-actuated drag-reduction system at the rear end, and a revised rear diffuser with dual exhaust outlets.

This example is finished in Nero Daytona with Scuderia Ferrari fender shields and is further equipped with adaptive xenon headlights paired with LED taillights.

The gold-finished 20″ forged alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measuring 245/35 up front and 305/30 out back. The car is equipped with magnetorheological dampers, and braking is handled by red-finished Ferrari/Brembo calipers over cross-drilled carbon-ceramic rotors at all four corners. The Speciale received a retuned Side Slip Angle Control system compared with the 458 Italia as well as F1-Trac traction control.

Weight-saving measures on Speciale models included carbon-fiber door panels and seat frames. This example features power-adjustable seats upholstered in Nero Alcantara with red stitching and embroidered prancing horses in the headrests. Color-coordinated upholstery extends to the dash, center console, and door panels. Further appointments include navigation, a CD stereo, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The multifunction steering wheel fronts column-mounted shift paddles and features LED shift indicator lights as well as a red engine-start button and an adjustable manettino that toggles among several traction control and vehicle settings. Instrumentation consists of a central tachometer with a 9k-rpm redline flanked by two configurable displays. The digital odometer indicates 7k miles.

The mid-mounted 4.5-liter V8 was reworked for the Speciale with a carbon-fiber intake assembly and a 14:1 compression ratio along with a revised intake system, camshafts, and pistons. Factory-rated output was 605 horsepower and 398 lb-ft.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle and an electronic differential.
