This 1968 Ford Mustang fastback was modified between 2020 and 2023. It was repainted Highland Green over a reupholstered black cabin, and it is powered by a BluePrint Engines 408ci V8 topped by a Weiand intake manifold and a Holley 750cfm carburetor. Power is transferred to the rear end by a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9″ rear end with a helical limited-slip differential. The car rides on a Global West front end with Koni shocks all around, and it has staggered Torq Thrust wheels and Wilwood disc brakes. It also has a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a Bluetooth-capable stereo, and a Silver Sport Transmissions shifter. This Mustang fastback is now offered on dealer consignment with records and a clean California title.
Around 2022, the car was repainted Highland Green using two-stage DuPont Chroma products.
The front suspension is from Global West and features tubular control arms, 620 lb/in coil springs, adjustable strut rods, and Koni shocks. Out back Konis are paired with leaf springs. EPAS electric power steering was added along with Wilwood Dynapro calipers and subframe connectors, and the American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels measure 17″ and 18″ front and back, respectively.
Dynamat insulation was installed in the bare cabin before it was reupholstered with black vinyl. A Bluetooth-capable retro-look stereo was added and linked to dashboard and kick-panel speakers, and it has a power antenna.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel, Silver Sport Transmissions shifter, and New Vintage gauge cluster were fitted.
The 408ci V8 is a stroker crate engine based on a 351 Windsor and built by BluePrint Engines. It has aluminum heads, a Weiand aluminum intake manifold, a Holley 750cfm carburetor, and electronic ignition. Cooling is from a Mishimoto radiator with dual electric fans.
The corrected dynamometer report lists peak output of 464.4 horsepower and 509.4 lb-ft of torque.
The Tremec TKX five-speed transmission uses a Ford Performance aluminum bellhousing and a McLeod clutch kit with a cable conversion. The rear end is a Currie Enterprises 9″ unit with a helical limited-slip differential, 3.70 gears, and 31-spline axles. A Pypes stainless-steel exhaust system is linked to the JBA headers.
The car is titled in California as a 1968 Ford Mustang using VIN 1193726.
