2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H

This 2006 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H coupe is #419 of 500 examples produced for the model year, all of which were first available exclusively as Hertz rentals. The car is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission and is finished in black with gold racing stripes over dark charcoal leather. The car was modified by Shelby Automobiles with revised suspension components and exterior styling as well as Pro-Cal engine management calibration, a 90mm air intake, and an X-pipe exhaust system with performance mufflers. Subsequent revisions included the addition of 20″ CS69 alloy wheels, MBRP rear exhaust components, GT500-specification front calipers, and aftermarket brake pads, rotors, and lines. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential with 3.55:1 gearing as well as air conditioning, cruise control, a Shaker 500 audio system, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The car was acquired by the current owner on BaT in December 2024. This Shelby GT-H has 45k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve in California with a clean Oregon title.

The GT-H was only offered as a coupe for the 2006 model year, and all 500 examples were finished in black (UA) with gold stripes as a tribute to Hertz’s 1966 Shelby GT350-H “Rent-a-Racer” promotion. Exterior details include a rear spoiler, Hertz badging, power-adjustable side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and Shelby bodywork consisting of a revised hood as well as a billet grille insert, hood pins, and side scoops. Window tinting has been added. The rear bumper cover was replaced under prior ownership, the front bumper was repainted, and the vinyl stripes were replaced at the time of the paintwork. Paint chips are present on the front end.

The 20″ CS69 alloy wheels are mounted with 255/35 Nitto Nt05 tires that are said to have been installed in 2024. The Shelby GT package included Ford Racing lowering springs, dampers, and front and rear sway bars. The braking system has been revised with Brembo GT500-specification front calipers, PowerStop rotors and pads, and Goodridge braided stainless-steel brake hoses.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a folding rear bench trimmed in Dark Charcoal leather. Amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, Hertz-branded sill plates, keyless entry, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and locks, an in-dash six-disc CD changer, and a Shaker 500 audio system.

Plaques on the dashboard and in the engine bay list the Shelby serial number.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 145-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 45k miles.

The 4.6-liter V8 is equipped with single overhead camshafts and three valves per cylinder. The engine features a Ford Racing Power Pack that includes a 90mm air intake with Pro-Cal engine management software as well as a strut tower brace. Output was rated at 325 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. GT-H-branded oil filler and fluid filler caps have been added.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 gear ratio. The Shelby GT package included a high-flow exhaust system with an X-pipe, and MBRP axle-back exhaust components have been added.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage and lists three open recalls related to the front airbags.
