2022 BAC Mono R

This 2022 BAC Mono R is powered by a Mountune Racing-built 2.5L inline-four linked with a Hewland FTR six-speed sequential gearbox and a Powerflow limited-slip differential. The car features carbon-fiber composite bodywork finished in silver with exposed carbon-fiber accents over a TIG-welded seamless tube steel chassis. Additional equipment includes a titanium exhaust manifold, adjustable Öhlins dampers, carbon-ceramic brakes with AP Racing Pro 5000 R calipers, 17″ Dymag carbon-hybrid wheels, centrally mounted headlights, a Formula 3-style air intake pod, a rear spoiler and diffuser, a single-seat trimmed in black leather and microsuede upholstery, a multifunction steering wheel on a quick-release hub, a cockpit-mounted electrical cutoff switch, and a Schroth safety harness. This Mono R was purchased new by the current owner and has 714 miles. It is now offered on dealer consignment with a set of four 17″ Alleggerita wheels, a battery charger, a jack, car covers, a clean Carfax report, and an Oregon title.

The Mono R was introduced at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed and features graphene-enhanced carbon-fiber body panels, a Formula 3-style air intake pod, and a pair of headlights mounted under a plexiglass cover in the nose of the car. The car is 20mm lower and 25mm longer than the standard Mono and has a curb weight of 1,224 pounds, a savings of over 50 pounds compared to the standard model.

The bodywork on this example is finished in silver, and it is wrapped around a TIG-welded seamless tube steel chassis with a carbon-fiber crash box. Exposed carbon fiber is visible on the fenders, lower nose panels, air intake pod, and tail. Equipment includes front and rear towing eyes, LED running lamps, dual side-view mirrors, and a rear spoiler and diffuser.

The 17″ Dymag carbon-hybrid wheels are finished in gold with exposed carbon-fiber rims, and they are mounted with 205/45 front and 255/40 rear Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. A set of four Alleggerita wheels with Pirelli P Zero slicks is included in the sale and can be seen in the gallery. The pushrod suspension utilizes billet aluminum uprights, adjustable Öhlins dampers, and front and rear anti-roll bars. Stopping power is provided by four-piston AP Racing Pro 5000 R calipers over cross-drilled carbon-ceramic discs at all four corners.

The single-seat cockpit is trimmed in black microsuede and leather upholstery with white contrast stitching. Equipment includes an electrical cutoff switch, a brake bias adjuster, and a Schroth safety harness.

The 290mm Mono R-branded carbon-fiber multifunction steering wheel features an LCD display screen and hand controls, and it is mounted on a quick-release hub. The digital odometer shows 714 miles.

The 2.5L Ford Duratec-based inline-four was built by Mountune for the Mono R, and it acts as a semi-structural component. Components include a billet crankshaft, a ram-air intake system, dry-sump lubrication, and a gas-flowed cylinder head. Output was factory rated at 343 horsepower, a 35-horsepower boost over a standard Mono.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed Hewland FTR sequential gearbox, an AP Racing clutch, and a Powerflow limited-slip differential. The central-exit exhaust system features a titanium four-into-two into-one manifold. Carbon-fiber panels are fitted underneath.
