This 1964 Porsche 356SC cabriolet was acquired by the current owner in the 1990s and was refurbished between 1995 and 1996. It is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Signal Red over black leather. Features include a black soft top, 15″ steel wheels, disc brakes, body-color bumpers, twin engine grilles, front bucket seats, a Blaupunkt radio, and an analog clock. This 356C cabriolet is now offered on dealer consignment with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, service records, refurbishment photos, and a clean California title.
This Reutter-built body was finished from the factory in Signal Red and stripped to bare metal before being repainted in 1995. It features a black soft top, a windshield washer system, an underside front tow ring, twin engine grilles, and body-color bumpers with bright guards.
The 15″ steel wheels are mounted with Nexen tires measuring 165/80. The car was factory equipped with disc brakes at each corner.
The front bucket seats and rear jump seats are upholstered in black leather, and interior appointments include a body-color painted dashboard, a cabin heater, lap belts, a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, Coco floor mats, and an analog clock.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, which is not considered to be accurate. Total mileage is unknown.
The factory-replacement 1.6-liter 616/6 flat-four was installed some time ago.
Engine stamping K.D.★P★821792★ is shown above, and a corresponding number is listed as the replacement engine on the CoA.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows the factory colors and serial numbers, including the replacement engine.
A handful of photos from the refurbishment are provided in the gallery.
The California title is listed as a duplicate.
