This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was built to comply with the requirements for SCCA B-Production racing prior to being acquired by its current owner, IMSA-winning driver and Trans Am champion Tomy Drissi, during the early 1990s. A subsequent refurbishment was performed by Corvette specialist Mike Scott. The car is finished in Silver Pearl with black and red accents and is powered by a replacement 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed transmission. It rides on Torq-Thrust-style 15″ wheels with Goodyear racing tires that are mounted over four-wheel disc brakes, and exterior details include a low-profile acrylic windshield, a power bulge hood, fender vents, side pipes, and a roll cage. The soft top, bumpers, headlights, and windows have been removed, and the cabin is outfitted with red leather upholstery and a fixed-back driver’s seat as well as a Hurst shifter, a Lecarra steering wheel, an AutoMeter tachometer, and Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges. This C2 race car was last raced in 1998 and is now offered on dealer consignment in California for off-road use only with log books and a bill of sale.
The fiberglass body has been refinished in silver pearl with black and red stripes and features a power bulge hood with four quick-release pins as well as a low-profile acrylic windshield, fender gills, and dual side mirrors.
Torq-Thrust-style wheels with black spokes and polished lips are secured with extended-length lug nuts and mounted with 6.00-15″ Goodyear Blue Streak Sports Car Special racing tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features a red leather fixed-back driver’s bucket seat with diamond-stitch pleating and a five-point cam-lock harness as well as a standard red leather bucket seat with a latch-and-link lap belt. Additional interior details include a Hurst shifter, Lifeline fire-suppression equipment, an upholstered armrest, and a roll cage with door bars and a diagonal brace
The black-leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel fronts Stewart-Warner coolant-temperature and oil-pressure gauges, and an AutoMeter Pro-Comp II tachometer is mounted in the center stack above a Stewart-Warner oil-temperature gauge. There is no speedometer or odometer.
The Bob-Slade-built 327ci V8 was installed in 1992, and it breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and long-tube exhaust headers flowing into a pair of black-finished side pipes with turned-out slash-cut tips. Additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, a custom overflow tank, an Accel Super Stock coil, and a chrome Edelbrock open-element air cleaner.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
