This 1963 Chevrolet C10 is a short-bed pickup that was modified under previous ownership with a 400ci V8, a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, a fabricated drive shaft, power steering, front disc brakes, a Vintage Air climate control system, and a Bluetooth-compatible retro-style head unit. The truck was acquired by the current owner on BaT in December 2022, and subsequent work included the installation of steel Smoothie wheels with redline tires as well as reinforcing the frame, adding Holley Sniper EFI, fitting a coilover suspension setup and a rear Panhard bar, retrofitting a bed lift system, and re-trimming the bench seat in brown upholstery. The truck is finished green, and clear coat was applied over the exterior under previous ownership. Additional equipment includes a stepside bed, a bed-mounted spare wheel and tire, and aftermarket gauges. This C10 is now offered on dealer consignment in California with recent service invoices and a clean Pennsylvania title.
Worn green paint finishes the exterior, and red Gunners Rod Shop lettering is featured on the doors. A clear coat was applied over the paintwork under previous ownership. Equipment includes a stepside bed, a black front bumper, and a left-side mirror. The bumpers were re-secured to the frame in 2023. Rust is present on the hood, and areas of faded paint and corrosion are visible.
A previously installed air suspension system was removed and replaced with front and rear coilovers in 2023. Black-finished Detroit Diesel Smoothie wheels were added and mounted with redline tires in May 2023, and the front brake lines were re-routed earlier that year. The truck is equipped with power-assisted steering, and braking is handled by power front discs and rear drums.
The bench seat was re-trimmed in tan upholstery and three-point seatbelts were added under current ownership. Amenities include a Vintage Air climate control system and a Bluetooth-compatible retro-style head unit linked to an amplifier that is mounted behind the seat. Refurbishment work performed under prior ownership is said to have included replacing the driver-side window felt, carpets, and various switches as well as insulating the cab, installing door handles, and repairing the dome light and horns. The turn signal switch and wiring were replaced in 2023.
Dolphin instrumentation was installed in a brushed-finish dashboard insert under previous ownership. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 3,300 miles, and the total mileage is unknown.
The factory bed floor was removed under prior ownership, and a wood bed cover opens to reveal an aluminum fuel tank and a battery that are protected by a fabricated metal frame. A lift system for the bed cover was installed following the owner’s acquisition.
The 400ci V8 was installed under previous ownership and sends power to the rear wheels via a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission. The engine bay has been coated with bedliner material, and additional details include an aluminum radiator, finned valve covers, tubular exhaust headers, and a dual exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers. A Holley Sniper EFI system was added, the starter wiring was relocated away from the exhaust system, the battery wiring was re-routed, the oil was changed, and the air conditioning compressor, serpentine belt, alternator, ignition box mount, battery, and spark plugs were replaced in 2023.
The frame has been notched for rear-axle clearance, and underbody components were coated with bedliner material. The truck is equipped with a fabricated driveshaft. The frame was welded and reinforced, and a rear Panhard bar with Heim-joint links was installed under current ownership.
