Porsche 356 Speedster Replica by P356R

This Porsche 356 Speedster replica was assembled in 2024 by ISP West in California using a chassis and fiberglass body from P356R in Brazil as well as an air-cooled 1,914cc Volkswagen flat-four that is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. The engine build utilized dual 40mm carburetors and EMPI GTV-2 cylinder heads as well as a W110 camshaft, 8.5:1 pistons, electronic ignition, and a Destro Garage exhaust system. Finished in light blue over darker blue leatherette upholstery, the car is further equipped with a blue soft top, 12-volt electrics, front disc brakes, an adjustable ball-joint front end, and 15″ Möbelwagen Interceptor wheels as well as a banjo-style steering wheel, a metric speedometer, and lap belts. This 356 Speedster replica is now offered on dealer consignment with a California title that lists the car as a 1963 Volkswagen.

The fiberglass body is finished in light blue and is fitted with a darker blue convertible soft top and body-color bumpers with chrome-accented rub strips. Exterior details include a driver-side mirror, teardrop taillights, a louvered single-grille decklid, and gold-tone badging,

Staggered-width, silver-finished 15″ Möbelwagen Interceptor wheels with chrome center covers are wrapped in 175/65 front and 185/65 rear Advanta ER-800 tires. Adjusters are fitted to the Type 1 ball-joint front end, rack-and-pinion steering has been fitted, and braking is provided by front discs and rear drums.

The fixed-back bucket seats are upholstered in blue leatherette, and the upper dashboard and door panels are trimmed to match. Gray carpeting covers the floors and parcel shelf, and additional appointments include a body-color lower dashboard, a rearview mirror, and lap belts.

The banjo-style steering wheel frames green-marker instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 200-km/h speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 317 kilometers (~197 miles).

The air-cooled 1,914cc Volkswagen flat-four was assembled with a W110 camshaft and 94mm 8.5:1 compression-ratio pistons. GTV-2 single-spring cylinder heads from EMPI and dual 40mm carburetors were fitted along with a 12-volt alternator, a 009-style electronic-ignition distributor, and a billet crankshaft pulley.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. A Destro Garage stainless-steel exhaust system has been fitted.
