This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera is one of 300 Anniversary Edition coupes built to commemorate 25 years of the 911 in the US, and it is powered by an M930/25 flat-six modified with 3.4-liter Mahle pistons and cylinders, 993 Super Sport camshafts, a GT3-style exhaust system, and a Steve Wong ECU chip. Finished in Satin Black Metallic over Silk Grey leather upholstery, the car is equipped with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle, 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, RS-style carpeting and door panels, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Kenwood head unit. Initially delivered to Southpoint WGW in Houston, Texas, the car spent time in multiple states before the current owner’s purchase in 2020. This 25th Anniversary Carrera is offered on dealer consignment in California with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.
The car is one of 60 coupes finished in Satin Black Metallic, which is one of two available colors for the 25th Anniversary Edition Carrera, and it was refinished under previous ownership. Exterior details include integrated fog lights, a front spoiler, headlight washers, a sunroof, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. The sunroof seal, driver’s side mirror motor, and windshield washer fluid pump were replaced in November 2021. Close-up photographs of exterior blemishes are shown in the gallery below.
The 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires that have 2015 and 2016 date codes. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The ride height was adjusted and Turbo tie rods were added in 2018. The rear inner and outer axle boots and brake hoses were replaced in 2020.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in Silk Grey leather. Black Coco floor mats line the footwell, and RS-style carpeting and door panels have been installed. Amenities include air conditioning, power windows, and a Kenwood head unit. The high beam switch and washer fluid switch were replaced in 2021.
The wood-rimmed MOMO steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership.
The flat-six was rebuilt to displace 3.4 liters with Mahle pistons and cylinders in 2018, at which time 993 Super Sport camshafts and a GT3-style exhaust system were installed and the rod bearings, connecting rod bolts, head studs, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, timing chain, spark plugs, spark plug wires, drive belts, distributor cap and rotor, fan housing, oil cooler hose, and fuel lines were replaced. Work performed since 2020 has included installing a Steve Wong ECU chip, rebuilding the fuel injectors, adjusting the valves, and replacing the oil pressure sender and fuel pressure regulator.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows factory colors, equipment, and a production completion date of March 1989.
