Set to appear on our auction listings next week we have a brilliant example of one of the best vehicles on the market for amateur and track day racing – the Radical SR3. This car, a 2008 version, is one of the final units produced during the first generation, although this particular Radical has had the front fascia replaced with a second generation unit to enhance the aesthetic. Billed as their most popular model, over 1000 SR3 have been sold since they first arrived on the market and racing junkies can tell you why. The lightweight carbon-steel spaceframe chassis and the energetic 1500cc Suzuki four-cylinder make for an intrepid experience on the track.
This SR3 further lives up to the heritage of motorsports by paying homage to Mazda’s 1991 Le Mans-winning 787b with its green and orange patch livery. The owner has previously entered the car in two Radical Series events, and since then it has solely been used for track days. This use is evident by some rock chips and knicks in the paint. However, no accidents are reported during its life and 221.3 hours are currently clocked on the engine hour meter. If you are looking to get back into the racing scene or thinking about taking the first plunge, this is the perfect car to get your wheels moving with!
