With a brisk zero-to-sixty time under six seconds, it is no wonder that our recent sale of the 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 Spyder went so fast. A scant 84 of these 3000GT VR4 Spyder conversions happened to be made by ASC in 1996, so it was no surprise that the rarity of the car created such an allure. The sale closed down at $36,000 (plus fees), and that price should not flutter any eyelids as this particular GT was a choice cherry. With 25,000 miles on the clock, recent maintenance, a Borla exhaust, and all of the original interior and bodywork (besides a rear bumper repaint) this Mitsubishi represented a showroom-ready example of nineties Japanese speed. We only hope that the new owner doesn’t keep those 320 ponies in the stable too much because we would prefer them to be out on the road, top down, and grabbing gears.
