The Porsche Experience – 1968 Porsche 912 Arriving at Auction Next Week

Within recent years the market on any air-cooled Porsche designated a 911 has continually ascended and in some models, particularly early coupes, risen to stratospheric heights. However, for those looking to get behind the wheel of a Porsche to experience the direct delivery of that precise steering rack, the 912 is your hero at half the price. Built alongside the 911 the 912 ran for a period of four years and is in nearly every aspect, besides the motor, is a 911.

Coming to our auction house next week is an original Californian 912 that has been repainted only once in its original Ossi Blue color. The 1600cc air-cool flat motor, as verified by Porsche, is still genuine to the chassis and was rebuilt in 1992. Plus, it still has its original air cleaner elements, which is particularly rare. Although the engine number matches the four-speed transmission numbers do not, but the seller informs us this change was necessary due to an issue with the original five-speed unit. A clean California title, the original black California plates, and records that date far back into the 1980s are all provided with purchase to ensure repose. If you are eager to get into the Porsche market then this two-owner 912 will pleasantly provide the perfect Porsche experience that will not break the bank.
