The Off-Road King Coming Soon to Auction – 2017 Mercedes-Benz G550 4×4²

Mercedes-Benz established themselves decades ago as a paragon of luxury and technological innovation. However, often it is overlooked – especially in America – that they have considerable competency with off-roading vehicles. Originally designed as a military vehicle, only the Unimog (another military Mercedes) predates the G-class’ 1979 introduction for off-road vehicles. In the 1980s luxurious appointments began appearing inside the cabin. In the most recent ten years, their popularity has soared. Arriving at the auction in one week is a principle example of the luxurious off-road capabilities the G-Wagen possesses. The upcoming G550 4×4² is one of only 300 imported for the domestic market in America making this G-class a unicorn. A matte silver finish (Platinum Magno) is painted to the exterior and inside is beautiful black Nappa leather with DINAMICA microfiber inserts. Some aspects of the 4×4² are based on the larger G550 6×6 version available in the rest of the world. As such, it shares portal axles and numerous other suspension components that provide an 18” lift and the ability to ford water over two feet deep! Standard equipment aside, this Mercedes is stacked with optional extras from the factory that accrued to an original MSRP exceeding $225,000. Discontent with that exclusivity, the previous owner, afforded even more modifications to enhance the aesthetics and off-road performance further. A clean California title, Carfax, and manufacturer warranty (currently 14,000 miles) make this one of the most luxurious land roving vehicles now for sale.
