The Legendary 1,000hp Koenig Ferrari Testarossa

It doesn’t get any more 80s excess than 1,000hp and a wild body! Roll out the red (and we do mean RED) carpet for the 1985 Ferrari Testarossa Koenig Specials Competition Evolution II

This rare modified supercar has caught the attention of several major automotive publications including Car and Driver, Top Gear, Modern Car Collector, and Yahoo – each marveling over its outrageous specs and design.

The Story Behind this Transformed Testarossa

Originally delivered in Germany, this Testarossa was transformed by renowned German tuner Koenig Specials in 1986. The Competition Evolution II package took Ferrari’s iconic 80s supercar and cranked every dial up to eleven.

Top Gear describes the most eye-catching visual changes, from the “dramatically bulged panels, side air intakes, vented arches and rear wing.” But it’s what’s under the hood that really sets this Koenig creation apart. The 4.9L F113A flat-12 is fitted with twin KKK turbochargers, side mounted intercoolers, a MoTeC engine management system, and a center-exit exhaust system.

Even the most savvy of car guys that have come by our place have asked where we got the “modified F40.” Our founder, Robert Dietz, explains, “It is WILD to drive, it’s WILD to look at and it’s about one of the most fun cars with which to build a collection. And speaking of F40 – want to make you F40 seem dull? Drive this monster! Seeya RUF, bye-bye AMG. Nice knowing you Hamann and good luck Brabus!”
