Chassis 718-060
This 1960 Porsche RS60 Spyder is an extraordinary piece of racing history and one of just seventeen examples built. It was delivered new to driver, William Wuesthoff and quickly made its mark on the US racing sene amassing an impressive 12 class wins between 1960 and 1963.
Powered by its original matching-numbers Type 547/3 four-cam engine, the RS60’s 160-horsepower flat-four propelled it to numerous victories, including triumphs at Road America, Meadowdale, and Mosport. Unlike many of its contemporaries, this RS60 avoided major incidents, thanks to Wuesthoff’s precision driving and meticulous care.
Still wearing its original Wendler built aluminum body and featuring period-correct upgrades – including annular disc brakes fitted by Porsche legendary, Bruce Jennings – this RS60 remains one of the finest and most original examples remaining. With a competition pedigree that saw it battle Ferrari Testarossas and Lotus 19s, and a rare combination of authenticity and performance, this RS60 stands as a true icon of Porsche’s motorsport legacy.
