This 1983 Porsche 911SC coupe was acquired by the selling dealer in 2021 and has since been modified in Safari style. Work involved a repaint in Ruby Red Metallic with ivory bumpers and decals, along with the installation of brush guards, a ducktail rear decklid, auxiliary lights, skid plates, a coilover suspension, RSR-style sway bars, and 16″ Braid wheels with BFGoodrich K02 tires. The 3.0-liter flat-six features electronic ignition, PMO carburetors with velocity stacks, SSI heat exchangers, and a Dansk muffler, while the five-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt in 2023 and fitted with replacement ring and pinion gears and a Wavetrac limited-slip differential. The interior houses sport seats that have been reupholstered in burgundy leather with gray and ivory Alcantara stripes, along with a roll bar, RS-style door panels, a Porsche Classic head unit, and an Alcantara-covered dash and headliner. This 911SC coupe shows 158k miles and is now offered in California with Maine registration.
The car was repainted Ruby Red Metallic in 2023 with ivory Porsche stripe decals and graphics that extend to the rear quarter panels and ducktail decklid. The bumpers received a textured Line-X coating in a Ferrari shade of Avorio, and tubular brush guards and skid plates were added. The front bumper has been recessed by approximately 1.5″, and additional modifications include custom fluted headlight lenses with bi-LED projectors and black trim, a lighted LED rear reflector, a TRE Motorsports front light bar, and a spare mount above the rear window.
The 16″ Braid wheels are finished in cream and mounted with 215/65 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors. The pads and rotors were replaced during the build, at which time the suspension was modified with Von Street coilovers, RSR-style hollow sway bars, a bump steer kit, decambered ball joints, and Turbo tie rods. The rear shock towers, chassis, and rear suspension mounts have been reinforced per the seller.
The cabin features sports seats that have been reupholstered in a 959-style with burgundy leather with Alcantara gray and ivory stripes. Matching upholstery extends to the RS-style door panels, and the dash has been re-covered in Alcantara and leather. The rear seats have been removed, and additional equipment includes an Alcantara headliner, visors, and door pulls along with squareweave carpets, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a four-point roll bar, a Porsche Classic radio wired to Pioneer speakers, a Rennshift shifter, and a 917-style wood shift knob. The front trunk houses an onboard compressor along with a recovery strap and a Rennline strut bar.
The three-spoke Clubsport steering wheel has been reupholstered in burgundy leather and Alcantara, and it frames a central tachometer with a custom face as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer on this Safari style Porsche shows 158k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 3.0-liter flat-six was reportedly rebuilt approximately 20k miles ago and features dual PMO 40mm carburetors with velocity stacks and 911R-style rain shields, along with Electromotive XDi200 electronic ignition, SSI heat exchangers, and a stainless-steel Dansk exhaust system.
The Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle was reportedly rebuilt in 2023 with replacement ring and pinion gears and a Wavetrac limited-slip differential. The axles were also replaced at that time.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage. The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its Maine registration.
