Modified 2009 Nissan GT-R Premium

This 2009 Nissan R35 GT-R Premium was purchased new by the current owner, and its twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 was subsequently modified with an HKS GT1000 turbocharger upgrade kit, Darton piston sleeves, CP-Carrillo pistons and connecting rods, and JUN high-performance camshafts. The car rides on a lowered suspension with JRZ three-way adjustable coilovers and SPL Pro upper control arms, and it is equipped with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that was retrofitted with a Dodson Motorsport Extreme Duty gear set and Promax clutch kit. Further modifications consist of a carbon-fiber Seibon hood and Kansai front splitter, a MoTeC M150 ECU, catalytic converter bypass pipes, a titanium exhaust system, an HKS intercooler, aftermarket transmission and front differential coolers, an OS Giken rear differential, 20″ HRE forged wheels, Brembo Carbon-ceramic brakes, and a carbon-fiber-backed Recaro driver’s seat. This Super Silver-finished GT-R Premium is now offered on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual, a collection of spare parts, invoices totaling over $230k, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title.

Super Silver (KAB) paint finishes the exterior, and an exposed carbon-fiber Seibon hood with louvers and a body-color center stripe has been added along with later-specification LED taillights and a Kansai carbon front splitter with brake cooling ducts. Additional details include HID headlights, heated power-folding side mirrors, a rear spoiler, and quad exhaust finishers that exit through the rear fascia. Imperfections are visible on the front splitter and grille insert.

The car rides on a modified suspension with 2012-specification front lower control arms and strut bar brackets as well as JRZ three-way adjustable coilovers and SPL Pro upper control arms, rear toe links, and rear camber links. The selling dealer notes that revised suspension bushings and anti-sway bars have been added. Gray-finished 20″ HRE P40 forged wheels are mounted with 225/35 front and 335/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and braking is handled by retrofitted yellow Brembo multi-piston calipers over carbon-ceramic discs at each corner.

A carbon-fiber-backed bucket seat has been installed for the driver, and it features black leather and microsuede upholstery that matches the stock passenger seat. Appointments consist of a heated power-adjustable passenger’s seat, a Bose sound system, a back-up camera, Nissan Intelligent Key, push-button start, a CD stereo, cruise control, and dual-zone automatic climate control. An HKS air/fuel ratio display is mounted below the CD player.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts column-mounted paddle shifters, and a MoTeC C127 display with a 9k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary readouts. The digital odometer indicates 1 mile. The Carfax report lists a mileage inconsistency in an August 2015 entry, and the total mileage is unknown.

The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter VR38DETT V6 has been retrofitted with Darton piston sleeves, CP-Carrillo pistons, Carrillo H-beam rods, ARP hardware, an HKS intercooler, AN fuel fittings, a brushless fuel pump, a titanium coolant expansion tank, a fabricated air-oil separator, an E85-capable high-capacity fuel system, and a Motec M150 ECU. Modifications in 2015 included the installation of JUN high-performance camshafts and larger valves as well as porting and polishing the cylinder heads, and installing an HKS GT800 turbo kit, which was revised in 2018 with an HKS GT1000 upgrade kit that includes the following components:

  • HKS GTII 7867 turbochargers
  • Heat-resistant cast exhaust manifolds
  • Revised turbo inlet pipes
  • HKS GT II wastegates

The six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox was overhauled in 2017 by Shepherd Transmission Inc. of North Laurence, Ohio with a Dodson Motorsport Extreme Duty gear set with an overdrove sixth gear and it is equipped with a Dodson Motorsport Promax clutch kit. Further modifications consist of an OS Giken limited-slip rear differential, transmission and front differential coolers, and DSS rear axle stubs. The catalytic converter bypass pipes and a titanium exhaust were installed.

A collection of spare and removed stock components are included in the sale, and manufacturer’s literature, modification records totaling over $230k, and dynamometer readouts are viewable in the gallery below.
