This 1979 Chevrolet K10 Suburban underwent a refurbishment process with East Coast Rover beginning in April 2021 with work that totaled over $400k. A replacement 6.2-liter LS3 V8, a six-speed automatic transmission, and dual-range transfer case were installed, a suspension lift kit and four-wheel disc brakes were fitted and the master brake cylinder, brake booster, ball joints, and steering stabilizer were replaced. The truck was repainted two-tone yellow, the headliner and dash pad were refreshed, an Alpine CD stereo and aftermarket gauges were added, and custom-fabricated rear speaker boxes were mounted. This Suburban is offered in dealer consignment with service records and a clean Montana title.
The truck was repainted two-tone yellow during the refurbishment, which also included fitting a replacement roof rack, window seals, and bumper brackets. Additional equipment includes Trailering Special badging, LED headlights, and chrome bumpers.
The 15″ Rally wheels and the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires were installed during the build. Additionally, a suspension lift and Bilstein shocks were installed and the following components were replaced:
- Front and rear brake rotors and calipers
- Master brake cylinder
- Brake booster
- Brake hoses
- Ball joints
- Sway bars
- Wheel bolts
- Front wheel bearings and seals
- Outer tie rod ends
- Steering stabilizer
The cabin features three rows of bench seating upholstered in tan cloth along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior metal surfaces were repainted yellow and the headliner and dash pad were replaced. Additional amenities include front and rear air conditioning, an aftermarket cruise control system, a power-operated rear window, an Alpine CD stereo, and aftermarket rear speakers with fabricated enclosures.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames aftermarket gauges including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The digital odometer indicates 2,900 miles since the build. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 6.2-liter LS3 V8 was installed during the refurbishment, at which time the following replacement components were installed:
- Radiator
- Fuel tank and lines
- Wiring harness
- Accessory drive system
- Air conditioning components
- Engine mounts
- Various belts, gaskets, seals, and hoses
The six-speed automatic transmission and the dual-range transfer case were replaced during the build, which also included fitting a replacement exhaust system with stainless-steel piping as well as replacing the transmission pan, transmission mount, and body mounts.
