This 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Dune is said to have been purchased new by comedian Carol Burnett, who had the car repainted in red and fitted with black and red upholstery shortly after delivery. Equipment includes a raised suspension, 18″ Canyon alloy wheels, black fender flares, a sunroof, bi-xenon headlights, parking sensors, and a rearview camera. The car also has heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment, and a Fender sound system. Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle. This Beetle has 4,600 miles and is offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title.
The car left the factory finished in Deep Black Pearl and is said to have been disassembled and repainted shortly after it was delivered new, reportedly in Colorado Red. Fitted with black fender flares, the Beetle Dune is 0.6″ wider than the standard model and was factory equipped with a rear spoiler and Dune graphics, both of which have been removed. Exterior equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, a sunroof, and parking sensors.
The 18″ Canyon alloy wheels are mounted with 235/45 Hankook Kinergy GT tires. The Beetle Dune came equipped from the factory with a rough-road suspension which added 10mm in ride height, a wider track, and a front stabilizer bar.
The 2+2 cabin was fitted with replacement upholstery and red-finished accents shortly after delivery. Interior features include heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment, a Fender sound system, cruise control, keyless access, push-button start, and a rearview camera.
The multi-function Dune-branded steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a fuel level gauge. The digital odometer indicates 4,600 miles.
The turbocharged 1.8-liter inline-four was factory rated at 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque.
Power is delivered to the front wheels via a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle.
