2,800-Mile Modified 2006 Noble M400

This 2006 Noble M400 is one of a reported 75 examples produced, and it was purchased new by the current owner in Ohio. The car’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Ford Duratec V6 was subsequently overhauled and modified with JE pistons, CNC cylinder heads, a Ferrera valve train, revised piston oilers, tri-metal bearings, revised turbochargers, a heat-treated crankshaft, an aftermarket blow-off valve setup, and a larger air-to-air intercooler. Further modifications include multi-piece 18″ HRE wheels, a bespoke high-flow exhaust system, and chromoly front and rear tow hooks. Finished in silver over black Alcantara upholstery, the car is equipped with a six-speed manual transaxle, a limited-slip differential, cross-drilled disc brakes, an adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing, fixed-back bucket seats, Willans safety harnesses, a Sony CD stereo, and air conditioning. This M400 has 2,800 miles and is now offered in California on dealer consignment with over $150k of build invoices, a clean Carfax report, and an Ohio title.

The M400 was designed in England by Lee Noble, and the body and chassis were manufactured in South Africa by Hi-Tech Automotive before they were imported to the United States through 1g Racing of Hamilton, Ohio. This example is finished in silver and features composite bodywork, projector-style headlights, a front splitter, side intake scoops, an integrated ducktail rear spoiler, a manually adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing, and chromoly tow hooks. Paint protection film has been applied to the front end and high-wear portions of the exterior.

The multi-piece 18″ HRE alloy wheels are mounted with 235/40 front and 265/35 rear Toyo Proxes R888 tires. The front suspension uprights were modified to increase camber adjustment. Braking is handled by Noble-branded multi-piston calipers and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.

The fixed-back bucket seats are trimmed in black Alcantara upholstery with M400 headrest embroidery, and they are fitted with Willans safety harnesses. A diamond-quilted headliner accents the cabin, and additional appointments include Noble M400-branded door-sill plates, Noble-logo carpeted floor mats, a factory-integrated roll cage, and a Sony CD stereo. The ECU has been relocated to the cabin and is located behind the passenger’s seat.

Carbon fiber, leather, and microsuede trim the three-spoke steering wheel, and white-dial instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and supplementary gauges. Auxiliary readouts for oil pressure, temperature, and boost pressure are mounted in the center stack. The digital odometer on this 2006 Noble M400 indicates 2,800 miles, nearly all of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged, and intercooled 3.0-liter Ford Duratec V6 overhauled and modified under current ownership by Turbohoses R&D Inc. of Livermore, California, with a replacement long block, JE pistons, CNC cylinder heads, a Ferrera valve train, revised piston oilers, a heat-treated crankshaft, a Fluidampr harmonic balancer, high-pressure oil and fuel pumps, tri-metal bearings, revised turbochargers, an aftermarket blow-off valve, and a larger air-to-air intercooler within the insulated intake box. The bespoke high-flow exhaust system exits through the rear valance. A photo of the dynamometer test results following the engine build is viewable in the gallery below. The selling dealer states that under 500 miles have been added since the engine modifications were completed, and the oil was changed following the initial break-in period. The car has not passed a California emissions test.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.

The car is titled under the Ohio-assigned serial number DPS05ASVE31476505 shown above, and the current Ohio title is listed as a replacement.
