This SWAT tactical van was built on a GMC P3500 forward control chassis by Mattman Specialty Vehicles of Escondido, California, and was subsequently in service with the Inglewood, California, police department. Interior features include equipment cabinets, weapons storage, ammunition drawers, and two workstations along with power outlets, a house air conditioner, and dry-erase boards mounted on the rear barn doors. Retractable awnings are positioned on both sides and at the rear, and other exterior equipment includes a Code 3 emergency light bar, perimeter lighting, a rear ladder, and power outlets. Power is from a 7.4-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and the van is finished in white and black with Inglewood Police SWAT lettering. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this P3500 tactical vehicle is now offered with an information manual and a clean California title.
The body is finished in white with black lower bodywork and blue Inglewood Police SWAT lettering. Equipment lockers are positioned on both sides along with perimeter lights, power outlets, and a Kussmaul auto-eject shore power connection with a battery status readout. A Code 3 emergency light bar is secured above the windshield, and other features include front corner markers, a rear ladder, rear skid casters, side and rear Carefree awnings, sliding side doors, and rear barn doors. Scratches and chips are visible in the paint.
Steel 19.5″ wheels wear Goodyear G657 RSS tires, and stopping power is from front disc and rear drum brakes.
The forward compartment houses individual seats upholstered in black vinyl, and a work surface is positioned over the aluminum engine cover and ahead of the right seat. The van is equipped with a Viper alarm system, and other details include a rubber floor mat, tinted visors, roll-up windows, and shoulder belts. A house air conditioner is secured overhead along with a console that houses lighting controls, a generator control panel, a Panasonic VHS VCR, a CRT-style television, and a Pioneer cassette stereo.
The GMC-branded steering wheel frames a 90-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer indicates 16k miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer.
A workstation with a desk is situated aft of the right-front seat and has overhead storage, power outlets, a rolling chair, Motorola two-way radio speakers, and a phone cradle with a 12-volt power outlet. A bench with a padded cushion is positioned across the walkway.
Barn doors provide access to the rear compartment, and the integrated dry-erase boards display tactical information from the vehicle’s final mission. A power-operated vent is mounted overhead, and on the left is a bank of equipment lockers, ammunition drawers, and open shelving. Compartments with stock cradles for securing long guns are on the right, as are cabinets for large-item storage. A forward partition houses a pocket door for separating the front and rear compartments.
The 7.4-liter V8 sends power to the rear wheels via a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission, and the van is equipped with a dually rear axle and an onboard air compressor.
