This 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster is one of 823 US-market examples produced for the model year. It is finished in Guards Red over black leather and powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a black soft top, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top cover panel, and fog lights in addition to a short shifter, a Blaupunkt cassette stereo, and air conditioning. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, this 911 Speedster now shows 23k miles and is offered at no reserve with a tool kit, spare speakers, and a clean California title.
The car features widened rear bodywork shared with the contemporary 911 Turbo, a fiberglass twin-hump convertible-top rear deck, and a shortened windscreen and side windows compared to the standard Carrera. This example is finished in Guards Red with a black soft top and has integrated fog lights, rear bumperettes, and a single exhaust outlet. The selling dealer notes an area of blended paint on the left fender. Paint meter readings are presented in the gallery.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with Continental Extreme Contacts tires. Braking is handled by black Porsche-script calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The seats are upholstered in black leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. The Speedster was not equipped with rear seats, and this example has air conditioning, a short shifter, and a Blaupunkt Charleston SQR 26 cassette stereo.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline flanked by a 170-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 23k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a G50 five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
