1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe G50

This 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six that was rebuilt in 2011 to European specification with Mahle higher-compression pistons and ARP connecting-rod bolts. Finished in Diamond Blue Metallic with a black-wrapped hood, front bumper, and mirrors, the car has also been modified with 16″ 52outlaw wheels, larger torsion bars, RSR front struts, SSI heat exchangers, an M&K muffler, and a custom Steve Wong ECU chip. Additional equipment includes a G50 five-speed manual gearbox, fog lights, Marine Blue leather upholstery, air conditioning, power windows, and a power-height-adjustable driver’s seat. Sold new in Texas, the vehicle was registered in California from 1996 until it was purchased by its current owner on BaT in February 2019. Under current ownership, the engine was resealed and the stone guards, turn-signal/dimmer switch, and right-side window switch and mirror motor were replaced. This Carrera coupe is now offered on dealer consignment in California with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Florida title.

The car was finished at the factory in Diamond Blue Metallic, and patterned black film was applied to the hood, front bumper, and housings of the power-adjustable mirrors in March 2019. Exterior details include black trim, integrated fog lights, a sunroof, and an auxiliary air intake at the right corner of the front bumper along with replacement rear-fender stone guards that were fitted in May 2019. The right-side window switch and mirror motor were replaced in March 2021.

Black-finished 16″ Fifteen52 52outlaw 001 wheels are mounted with 225/45 front and 245/45 rear Toyo Proxes R888R tires that have 2017 and 2018 production-date codes. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and RSR front struts have been added along with larger-diameter torsion bars.

The front seats are upholstered in Marine Blue leather, and the dashboard, door panels, and folding rear seats are trimmed to match. Blue carpeting lines the floors, and the cabin is further appointed with air conditioning, power windows, a MOMO shift knob, a rear window defroster, and powered height adjustments for the driver’s seat. Worn driver-seat upholstery is depicted in the gallery, and the Becker Monza CD stereo and trunk-mounted McIntosh amplifier are noted on a February 2023 service record as improperly wired and not working.

The Porsche 930 Club Sport steering wheel wears a full-color Porsche crest at its center, and VDO instrumentation ahead consists of a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 180-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 167k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The turn-signal/dimmer switch was replaced in February 2023.

The 3.2-liter flat-six was rebuilt to European specification in May 2011, using a Mahle 10.3:1 piston set, ARP connecting-rod bolts, and a modified camshaft. Other modifications include a custom Steve Wong ECU chip, an MSDS intake system, SSI heat exchangers, and an M&K muffler. The engine was resealed in October 2019, and the oil was most recently changed in February 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch was replaced in conjunction with the 2011 engine rebuild, with the flywheel resurfaced and balanced at that time.
