1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60

This 1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 was refurbished under previous ownership by Legacy Overland in Greenwich, Connecticut. Work included stripping and coating the frame, rebuilding the 4.2-liter 2F inline-six, four-speed manual transmission, and two-speed transfer case, overhauling the suspension and brakes, refinishing the exterior in Desert Storm Tan, and retrimming the interior in distressed brown leather with Harris Tweed tartan inserts. The truck is equipped with a 2″ suspension lift, Old Man Emu shocks, manually locking front hubs, front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, 33″ BFGoodrich tires, LED lighting, a roof basket, air conditioning, and a digital media receiver linked to a JBL sound system. Acquired by the current owner in 2021, this FJ60 is now offered on dealer consignment in California with refurbishment photos, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean South Dakota title.

The truck is finished in Desert Storm Tan and features LED headlights, KC Hilites auxiliary lights, a front-mounted Hi-Lift jack, a CB-style long antenna, chrome mirror caps, side steps, rack-mounted LED auxiliary lights, a roof basket, a rear window wiper, a split tailgate, a receiver hitch, and mud guards.

Black-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 33×10.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. The suspension is modified with a 2″ lift kit in addition to an Old Man Emu steering stabilizer and shocks. The front axle is equipped with manually locking hubs, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket seats and folding rear bench are upholstered in distressed furniture-grade brown leather and Harris Tweed tartan inserts that extend to the door panels. German square-weave carpets line the floors, and appointments include air conditioning, crank windows, a center console, a fire extinguisher, and a Bluetooth-capable Continental digital media receiver linked to an eight-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a 4,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 532 miles, which is thought to represent mileage accumulated since the refurbishment. The Carfax report notes a mileage discrepancy in January 2022 and total mileage is unknown.

The rebuilt 4.2-liter 2F inline-six is equipped with a single carburetor and was factory rated at 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The truck was designated a gross polluter by the State of California in April 2012 and most recently passed a California emissions inspection in 2016. Emissions equipment has been removed.

Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case, both of which were rebuilt during the refurbishment.
