1969 Kaiser-Jeep M725 Ambulance

This 1969 Kaiser-Jeep M725 is a 1¼-ton ex-military ambulance that is finished in green over green vinyl upholstery and powered by a 230ci inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Ambulance-specific equipment includes accommodations for up to five stretchers, a surgical lamp, air ventilators, a gas heater, rear-access steps, and a sliding door between the cab and the rear compartment. The truck also has intake and exhaust snorkels, a grille guard, body-color bumpers, a spotlight, red-cross graphics, green-painted 16″ wheels, and manually locking front hubs. The selling dealer acquired the vehicle in 2023. This M725 is now offered in California at no reserve with a bill of sale.

Produced from 1967 through 1969, the M725 ambulance was based on Kaiser-Jeep’s M715 military truck, which itself was based on the contemporary Jeep Gladiator pickup and offered a 1¼-ton load rating. This example is finished in olive drab green, and a large red-cross graphic spans swing-out rear doors that hold jerrycans. Other features include US Army lettering above the rear doors, body-color bumpers, intake and exhaust snorkels, a grille guard, D rings, dual side mirrors, and a spotlight. A storage compartment is provided ahead of the left-rear wheel.

Green-painted 16″ steel wheels are wrapped with 9.00–16LT Denman military nylon-cord tires that exhibit cracks. Selectro manually locking hubs are found at the front axle. The truck has leaf springs, telescoping shocks, and drum brakes at all four corners.

The cab houses two seats upholstered in green vinyl. An electric fan is mounted above the windshield, a turn-signal controller is attached to the steering column, and the interior also contains a passenger-side grab bar and a glovebox. Discoloration is noted on the passenger seat.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts central instrumentation including a 60-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, and true chassis mileage is unknown.

The rear compartment can hold up to five medical stretchers and offers a surgical lamp, air ventilators, a gas heater, and rear-access steps. A sliding door separates the cab from the rear compartment.

The 230.5ci Tornado inline-six features a single-overhead-camshaft design combined with hemispherical combustion chambers. The selling dealer performed a tune-up in preparation for the sale.

Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.

The vehicle does not have a title, as it is not intended for road use and has not been registered for the street. It is being offered on a bill of sale.
