This 1967 Peugeot 404 was sold new in Italy and was imported to the US in 2006, after which it was acquired by the current owner on BaT in March 2023. The car is finished in blue over color-coordinated cloth and vinyl upholstery and powered by a 1.6-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 15” wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, a Solex carburetor, rear-window louvers, and a Blaupunkt radio. This 404 is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Thousand Oaks, California with workshop manuals, manufacturer’s literature, a car cover, spare parts, tools, and a clean Montana title listing the car as a 1966 model.

The 404 was styled by Pininfarina, and this example is finished in blue. Exterior features include yellow headlight bulbs, bright metal trim, a left-side mirror, Peugeot-branded mud flaps, and chrome bumpers with black rubber guards. Gray-finished 15” steel wheels wear stainless-steel hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires showing 2009 production date codes. Power-assisted front disc brakes reportedly sourced from a 1969 model were fitted in 2015, along with a dual-circuit master cylinder and replacement control arms and front struts. The brake fluid is said to have been flushed in 2022.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue cloth with vinyl sides and backs, along with a two-tone dash and door panels. Additional appointments include a Blaupunkt dual-band radio, striped floor mats, rear-window louvers, and a heater. The cigarette lighter is inoperative and the windshield wipers work intermittently.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 190-km/h speedometer, an inoperative clock, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer on this 1967 Peugeot 404 shows 38k kilometers (~24k miles), and total mileage is unknown.

The 1.6-liter inline-four was rebuilt in 2013 and is equipped with a Solex carburetor and a battery cutoff switch. There is an oil leak.
