This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe was initially delivered to Tucker & Son Chevrolet in Folsom, California, and a body-off refurbishment was commissioned by the original owner in 2010 after their reacquisition. The car is powered by a 327ci L75 V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential, and the transmission was disassembled and cleaned in 2024. It is finished in silver over red vinyl, and further equipment includes three-eared spinner-style hubcaps, power-assisted brakes, flip-up headlights, an off-road exhaust system, and a Delco AM radio. Previously sold on BaT in August 2023, this C2 split-window coupe is offered on dealer consignment with a copy of the window sticker, an NCRS Shipping Data Report, removed parts, and a Washington state title.
The fiberglass body left the factory finished in Sebring Silver (941) and was removed from the frame and repainted as part of the 2010 refurbishment. Details include a split rear window, flip-up headlights, fender vents, quad taillights, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust finishers that exit through the rear valance.
Silver-finished 15” steel wheels feature three-eared spinner-style hubcaps and are mounted with Milestar tires measuring 205/75 all around. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted drums. The suspension and brakes are said to have been overhauled in 2010.
The bucket seats are upholstered in red vinyl and are separated by a custom center armrest with cupholders. The Delco AM radio is said to have been repaired, and the door locks were overhauled in April 2024.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The instrument cluster was repaired in April 2024. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci L75 V8 was equipped from the factory with a four-barrel carburetor and rated at 300 horsepower when new. The engine is said to have been rebuilt in 2010 and wears replacement valve covers. The oil pan was resealed in April 2024.
Photos of the engine pad stamp are provided in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional PosiTraction differential. The transmission was disassembled, cleaned, and fitted with a replacement second gear in April 2024, at which point the pilot bearing and clutch pushrod were replaced. The car was optioned with an off-road exhaust system.
