This 1953 Citroën Traction Avant 11B has been refinished in navy blue and dark green over light blue mohair and gray vinyl and fitted with the 1.9-liter inline-four and four-speed manual transaxle from a DS19. Previously sold on BaT in July 2018 and acquired by the current owner in 2019, the car received approximately $26k in mechanical overhauls with Paul Heilig in California under current ownership. This Traction Avant is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a clean California title.

The Traction Avant paired unibody construction with front-wheel-drive to save weight and create a spacious passenger compartment with a flat floor. The 11B “Normale” was the standard 121.7″ wheelbase version, and this example wears an older repaint in navy blue with dark green fenders. Yellow 400mm pressed steel wheels feature black hubcaps with bright centers and are mounted with 165-series Michelin X Radial tires. The car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering as well as an independent wishbone front suspension with torsion bars. CV-joint axles have been installed, and the four-wheel drum brakes were serviced under current ownership.

The four-seat cabin was partially reupholstered in light blue mohair and gray vinyl under previous ownership, and the window frames were repainted dark green under current ownership. Older brown carpeting covers the floors, and speakers are fitted in the footwells and rear cabin.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 152-km/h speedometer and instruments for fuel level and amperage. A Jaeger temperature gauge is located in a custom plate on the dash along with the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 83k kilometers (~52k miles). Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.9-liter inline-four was sourced from a DS19 and installed under previous ownership. It features a single Zenith-Stromberg carburetor and PerTronix ignition components.
