This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC is a black-over-gray example that was purchased by its current owner on BaT in October 2022 and listed again on BaT in July 2024. Powered by a 5.5-liter M117 V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, it is equipped with fog lights, a power sunroof, a power antenna, heated power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, and a Becker cassette stereo with aftermarket Bluetooth connectivity. Returning the car to its stock configuration in preparation for the sale consisted of removing vinyl wrap from the exterior cladding, trim, and interior wood items along with refitting the previously removed suspension springs and 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels. Showing 13k miles, this C126 560SEC is now offered on dealer consignment in California with owner’s manuals, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
The car is finished in Black (040) with gray lower-body cladding and a bright grille, mirror housings, and trim. Additional exterior details include headlight wipers, fog lights, a power sunroof, and a power antenna. The left-front fender was reportedly repainted in the 1990s after it was damaged in a parking lot incident, and the trunk lid was repaired and repainted in 2020 after a rear spoiler was removed. Vinyl wrap that had been on the cladding and trim has been removed.
Silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with 205/65 Michelin Defender tires that have 2020 production-date codes. The car is equipped with self-leveling rear suspension, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs with ABS. Previously removed stock suspension springs have been reinstalled in preparation for the sale.
The heated and power-adjustable front seats are upholstered in gray leather, and the door panels and individual rear seats are trimmed to match. Additional appointments include automatic climate control, dual front airbags, rear headrests, cruise control, and a factory Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo with aftermarket Bluetooth connectivity. Under prior ownership, the headliner was reupholstered and the SRS control module and left-side door-check strap were replaced. In preparation for the sale, previously applied vinyl was removed from the wood trim.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for instant fuel economy, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 13k miles, a handful of which have been added under current ownership.
The 5.5-liter M117 V8 was factory rated at 238 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque. Work under prior ownership included replacing the shifter bushings, drive belts, valve-cover gaskets, and power-steering pump seal and hoses.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
