A Piece of American History in Auction – Lyndon B. Johnson’s 1964 Lincoln Continental

Automotive expert and Ford Authority reporter, Brett Foote recently shined a spotlight on a piece of presidential and automotive history. A 1964 Lincoln Continental convertible formerly owned and used by the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson.

This Arctic White over beige leather Lincoln is no ordinary classic. It was originally purchased by The LBJ Co. in Austin, Texas and used by the President at his central Texas ranch.

The collectible vehicle has undergone a thorough refurbishment in the early 2000s including a factory-correct Arctic White respray. It also retains rare documentation of its provenance like historical photos, original paperwork from the LBJ Corporation’s purchase.

This is truly an unprecedented opportunity to park a piece of Americana in your own garage. Ford Authority covered the history of this special vehicle in more detail.

WOB Car’s founder and owner, Robert Dietz, shared his excitement in the auction’s comments:

“I’m still collecting myself off the floor from this being here in the showroom. A president’s car alone is a remarkable and utterly rare item to have hands on, but this car bought right before JFK’s passing is unreal history. On top of that, a 64 Conny is undeniable Americana and when I think of a Presidential ride, a Continental is my immediate thought.

Heavily documented, historically preserved and absolutely stunning. I adore this Continental and I can not speak to how many times I have just sat in the driver’s seat deep in thought.
