A Baby BMW Comes to the Block – 1958 BMW Isetta 300 Arriving At Auction Soon

The climate of the automobile industry in mainland Europe after World War II was one of the burgeoning enterprises utilizing designs allocated or approved by occupying forces. Chiefly, the demand for a small, fuel-efficient car at an exceptionally affordable price was in great demand since few had superfluous income. Italian manufacturer Iso Autoveicoli, in 1953, tapped into this market with the Isetta. In 1955, BMW picked up the torch and ran it home as a huge success with their own Isetta 300. Coming to the auction block next week is a completely refurbished – inside and out – 1958 example of BMW’s Isetta 300. Not only was the body and interior redone, but the peppy 13 horsepower 300cc BMW motorcycle engine was also rebuilt by the Isetta professionals Isetta R Us. Currently, that motor has around 15,000 miles on it, and there is some interior and exterior wear proportionate to the mileage. If you’re looking for a unique car from the 1950s that will not break the bank but still draw some exciting attention at the local cars and coffee or in traffic, this is your ticket. Plus, the Isetta was rated at an astonishing 94 miles-per-gallon in 1955, so it might just become your daily driver!
